A US publisher has released Canada’s top hotels and six of Vancouver Island’s have made it within the top 50!
Using a comprehensive methodology, US News & World Report identifies the best hotels and resorts on a global scale.
Their results are based on three components: reputation among professional travel experts, guest reviews and hotel class ratings.
The six Vancouver Island hotels are the Wickaninnish Inn, The Magnolia Hotel & Spa, Fairmont Empress, Long Beach Lodge Resort, Oak Bay Beach Hotel and Brentwood Bay Resort & Spa—which also just placed in the top 25 Canadian resorts from the same publisher.

The lowest cost this time of year at The Magnolia is $220 per night.
The iconic and famed Fairmont Empress speaks for itself! With architectural splendor and artfully curated fine dining and cocktail experiences, every guest is bound to feel like royalty.
Treat yourself to afternoon tea, a restful session at their spa, a masterful beverage at the Q Bar or a walk through all of their glamorous indoor shopping hotspots!
The Fairmont Empress is offering $270 per night for its lowest-costing rooms this time of year.
Last, but certainly not least, is the Oak Bay Beach Hotel—a luxury boutique hotel known for its unabashed beauty and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
Their Boathouse Spa combined with three different dining experiences, plus the tucked-away feeling they provide, creates the ultimate vacation oasis.
And although the Boathouse Spa was recently hit by storm-related flooding, they’ve temporarily relocated their services to their ocean view garden level suites.
The mineral pool is still available as an add-on to other services, but they’ve paused independent mineral pool passes for now. Their sauna also remains temporarily closed.
For the other hotels, the Long Beach Lodge Resort in Tofino had $380 per night listed this time of year, and the Brentwood Bay Resort & Spa had its one-bedroom’s listed for $199 a night.
