Nanaimo RCMP seek public assistance in finding boat stolen from Stones Marina

Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a boat that was stolen from Stones Marina located at 1690 Stewart Avenue. 

The boat was reportedly stolen sometime after 10 a.m. on Sunday, February 2nd.

Police describe the vessel as a 2015 grey aluminum 18-foot Hewes-Craft 180 Sportsman with a black canopy. 

The hull number on the boat is HEW74742F515. 

According to Nanaimo RCMP, at the time of the theft the boat was equipped with two Yamaha motors—one being a 90 horsepower motor with the first four digits of the serial number being 1069 and the other being a 9.9 HP kicker with serial number GAVL. 

The investigating officer has reportedly conducted numerous patrols of the shoreline and has alerted neighbouring detachments and marinas with no success.
