The stage is set for an electrifying showdown as Canada and the United States go head-to-head in the 4 Nations Face-Off final on Thursday at TD Garden.
After an intense, physical battle in Montreal last weekend, the two rivals are set for a highly anticipated rematch—one that promises fireworks from the opening faceoff.
After a heated clash at the 4 Nations Face-Off last weekend, Canada and the US—two long-standing rivals—enter the most anticipated hockey game of the year with neither country clearly favoured to win on PlayNow.
Both Canada (1.90) and the United States (1.90) share the same odds to win the championship in Boston, despite the fact the US clinched its spot in the final with a 3-1 win over Canada last Saturday in a contest that featured three fights in the first nine seconds of play.
A successful $20 wager on either team will pay out a total of $38.
Bettors on PlayNow are showing confidence in the red and white, with 75 per cent of bets and 87 per cent of the money wagered backing Canada to win. Betting interest in the game is expected to rival what’s typically seen when the Vancouver Canucks make the playoffs or during a Stanley Cup Final, making it PlayNow’s most bet-on hockey game of 2025.
If Canada hopes to reclaim its dominance, the team’s “big three” will need to make an impact on the scoresheet.
Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, and Sidney Crosby have led the way offensively throughout the tournament and remain among the favourites to find the back of the net in the final (McDavid and MacKinnon at 2.90, Crosby at 4.50).
Canada secured its place in the championship with a hard-fought 5-3 victory over Finland on Monday, while the US, already locked into the final, rested key players in their 2-1 loss to Sweden later that night.
Now, with both teams at full strength, the rivalry reignites in what could be an instant classic. From the opening puck drop in their last meeting, the intensity was off the charts, setting the tone for what’s expected to be another heated battle.
With everything on the line, this is a game not to be missed, puck drop is at 5 p.m. Thursday, February 20th, with many local restaurants and pubs showing the game.
