7 ways to celebrate International Women’s Day in and around Victoria

Celebrate all of the influential and special women in your lives this International Women’s Day!

You can show your love and support in the way that you see fit, but if you feel like going out, there are a multitude of incredible events in and around Victoria to choose from.

Take your pals out for a night on the town and cheer on these incredible performers and voices as they share their hard work, perspectives and talent with audiences!

Without further ado, here’s 7 events in and around Victoria to celebrate International Women’s Day:

Women Leading Change

Moderated by local Victoria woman, Monica Chang, this free virtual event gives attendees the chance to hear from a mix of inspirational women.

The five women leaders will share how they’re navigating change, leading confidently, and turning challenges into opportunities.

Speakers include Janine Harris, Nancy De Santis, Charmaine Hammond, Eden Spodek and moderator, Chang.

International Women’s Day Luncheon & Presentation

For those of you looking for a little road trip, there’s a special Luncheon & Presentation hosted by the Zonta Club.

There will be pasta, salads, coffee and tea, and dessert to enjoy, while also supporting women and girls in the community.

The event will feature a 50/50 draw, raffle basket and a keynote presentation from Dr. Lauryn Oates, Executive Director of “Right to Learn” Afghanistan.

Tickets are $50 and you can RSVP via Eventbrite.

International Women’s Day Weekend

The Oaklands Sunset Market are hosting a jam-packed weekend filled with women-led events!

Activities include a Pinot & Paint, women’s artisan fair, women’s group run, fashion presentations and more.

Admission costs vary depending on the event, so make sure you check the schedule before you go!

Flower Crown Workshop

Join Flowers Canada Growers at the Mayfair Shopping Centre for a free flower crown workshop, offered from March 7th to 9th!

They welcome everyone of all ages to unleash their inner artist and craft a custom flower crown to take home.

Celebration of Women in Music

Join the crew at the Loft Pub for a day of live music, community and celebration of women in the arts!

There will be an incredible lineup of women-led bands and solo artists, covering a wide range of genres.

While you jam out, treat yourself to some craft beer, delicious pub food and great company with pals and other attendees.

Who Is Your (S)Hero at The Belfry Theatre

Celebrate International Women’s Day with Kulea Culture Society!

Join them at The Belfry as four women share stories of their (s)hero: a woman who has inspired them in their life and work.

Plus there’ll be performances featuring poetry, music, comedy, and dance. It’s going to be a special night you won’t want to miss!

Women Working for Changes: Our Stories Our Voices

Hosted by the International Women’s Day Society, everyone is invited to come for a free and empowering event where all women are welcomed to share their stories and raise their voices for positive change!
