Police seek help locating 41-year-old woman who disappeared on Gabriola Island (UPDATED)

RCMP have confirmed Jessica “Jay” Chapman has been located. No other details were released.

Gabriola Island RCMP are asking the public for assistance in locating Jessica “Jay” Chapman, a 41-year-old woman who has not been heard from since December 16th, 2025. 

According to police, Chapman was last seen on December 10th, but had contacted her family last on the 16th. 

After not hearing from her for over a week, Chapman was officially declared missing on December 29th. 

Chapman is described as a Caucasian woman, standing 5’10” tall, weighing around 170 pounds, with blonde hair that is usually worn in a ponytail and blue eyes.

Police believe she was camping somewhere out of view and off the main walking trails, on Gabriola Island with her two large black dogs.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jessica “Jay” Chapman should contact their local police department, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
