Woohoo for the weekend, Victoria! Got any plans?
If you need help planning your days off, we’ve got you covered! This weekend’s roundup includes fun events such as a Victoria Royals hockey game, plenty of art-related activities, a Carnaval dance party and more!
There’s a book launch event happening for local authors Dave and Kelly Hutchison’s new book, Vancouver Island: The Art of the Landscape, happening at Bolen Books.
Don’t forget about Hot Cross Buns Day, where some lucky musicians can play for a free hot cross bun at any COBS Bread location!
Without further delay, here’s 10 things to do in and around Victoria this weekend—March 1st and 2nd:
Hot Cross Buns Day
If you remember the pleasure (torture?) of learning “Hot Cross Buns” on the recorder or another instrument, then this may be your moment to shine.
On March 1st, COBS Bread is turning your childhood musical abilities into a delicious reward. All you have to do is bring in your recorder (or a different instrument of choice) to a local participating COBS and play your rendition of the song.
In return, you’ll get a free, baked-from-scratch hot cross bun.
This challenge is not limited to any age or specific skillset. There’s no official time limit, but they recommend keeping it short and sweet.
