Whether you’re looking to pass on old art pieces that no longer fit your space or you’ve inherited art you’re unsure what to do with, Art at the Lake might be the perfect solution!
Art at the Lake is a fundraiser organized by the Prospect Lake District Community Association (PLDCA), and is supporting a great cause in the heart of the Saanich Peninsula.
This fundraiser is aimed at helping maintain the historic Prospect Lake Hall—one of the few remaining community-owned halls in BC.
It will take place from Sunday, February 23rd and Sunday, March 2nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Prospect Lake Hall. Volunteers will be there to make the drop-off process quick and easy!
Since its inception in 2021, Art at the Lake has become a go-to event for those looking to donate art that no longer has a place in their homes.
Donors are encouraged to bring all kinds of artwork—including original paintings, limited-edition prints, sculptures, or collectibles like vases and objects d’art.
Past donations have included some truly remarkable items, such as historic maps of the Malay Peninsula, large canvases by Cuban postmodern artist Mildo Matos Carcases, a hammered silver bowl from The Bogota School and much more.
This initiative not only supports the preservation of an important local heritage site, but also gives art lovers the chance to find new homes for pieces that may have been gathering dust.
Prospect Lake Hall has been an important gathering place since the late 1950s, and the Hall continues to host a variety of community events, programs, and private functions.
