We’re not out of the snow watch just yet.
While temperatures in Victoria remain on the chilly side, the chance of snow is still lingering in the updated weather forecast.
Initially expected this Wednesday with a 60% probability, Environment Canada has adjusted the outlook for the week and now predicts a chance of rain showers or flurries on Saturday instead.
For now, the sun is expected to stick around until at least Tuesday evening, with nighttime temperatures hovering near the freezing mark.
The Weather Network released a report on Sunday suggesting that as February approaches, a significant shift in weather patterns is on the horizon.
Two provinces, including British Columbia, are forecasted to experience some of the coldest temperatures of the season.
According to the weather agency, a “deep freeze” is expected to develop as Arctic air from Alaska pushes southward later this week.
While some mild Pacific air will move across the country mid-week, Environment Canada notes that by the weekend, Arctic air is set to spill into the Yukon and Northwest Territories and surge southward, bringing bitterly cold conditions to much of BC and Alberta.
If you’ve already checked the weather app on your phone, it likely shows snow in the forecast from Monday through to at least Wednesday next week.
