Highway 19 near Woss on Vancouver Island was closed for several hours Friday night following a two-vehicle crash that claimed one life.
According to RCMP, the crash occurred around 7 p.m., forcing the closure of Highway 19 near Woss for several hours.
Sayward RCMP and British Columbia Highway Patrol (BCHP) technical investigators responded to the scene.
One driver was pronounced dead, while two individuals from the second vehicle were airlifted to hospital in serious condition.
The highway remained closed as police conducted their investigation and secured the scene. It reopened eight hours later, at 2 a.m. Saturday.
Sayward RCMP is working with the BC Coroners Service, and the investigation is ongoing.
