Here’s 5 things to do in and around Victoria on Thursday, January 30th:

OUTstages: A Decidedly Queer Theatre Festival

Intrepid Theatre has announced their upcoming 11th annual OUTstages: a decidedly queer theatre festival, running from January 30th to February 9th.

This huge 11th-year celebration will bring dazzling queer performances and adventurous programming to Victoria with a 12-day run of eclectic and electric shows by queer artists from both Vancouver Island and other areas of Canada!

It will be held at both the Metro Theatre and Intrepid Studio, where the atmosphere will thrive with passion, excitement, and sizzling beauty.

Catch a mix of drag, comedy, late-night cabarets, dance numbers, and much more!

OUTstages 2025 will also feature our Pay-What-You-10 $10 tickets, wherein 10% of tickets for shows will be on-sale for just $10.

    • Metro Studio Theatre, 1411 Quadra Street
    • Intrepid Studio, 1609 Blanshard Street #2
  • When: Thursday, January 30th to Sunday, February 9th

Wild Prose Reading Series

Head over to Paul Phillips Hall in Little Fernwood for a variety of fascinating readings from books about cults.

Carly Butler will be reading from her memoir Apocalypse Child: Surviving Doomsday and the Search for Identity at the End of the World, Sonja Larsen will read from her memoir Red Star Tattoo: My Life as a Girl Revolutionary, and Kyeren Regehr will read from her book of poems, Cult Life.

To open the night, there will be an open mic from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by the above featured readers.

Admission is $5 cash.

Community Crafting Circle

Every last Thursday of the month, the NeighbourSpace hosts a Community Crafting Circle!

Crafters are invited to come together and create based on the theme, and everyone uses 100% repurposed supplies from their sustainable stash.

This event is to inspire creativity, connection and climate action! Tea will also be provided, just bring your own mug.

It’s free to join, just be sure to register ahead of time to reserve your spot. They’ll be accepting cash donations, but it isn’t required.

Boots & Bourbon at Irish Times Pub

Looking for something a little rowdier?

Every Thursday, Irish Times Pub offers a Boots & Bourbon weekly special, including deals on Arizona Hard Iced Tea, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, and Pulled Pork Sandwiches.

There’ll be live country music from The Tumblin’ Dice from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.!

Beer & Board Games

Caffe Fantastico invites you to their roastery for an evening of tasty drinks, food and games!
