Two drivers in Oak Bay were issued immediate driving prohibitions relating to alcohol consumption.
In the first incident, Oak Pay Police say that on December 17th, at around 1 p.m. a vehicle was pulled over for having damaged rear taillights.
The officer then reportedly asked the driver if they had anything to drink that day, and the driver admitted they had a beer with lunch.
A breathalyzer test resulted in a “fail” for the driver, so they were issued a 90-day driving prohibition and their vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
The second incident occurred at around 10:15 a.m. on December 19th.
A check stop was set up for five hours on Foul Bay Road and one driver who was stopped was believed to be under the influence of alcohol while driving, according to Oak Bay Police.
The driver was issued a breathalyzer test by police and the result was a “warn,” meaning they had a blood alcohol level of between 60 to 99 milligrams.
The driver was issued a three day driving ban and their vehicle was towed and impounded for three days as a result.
