A significant police presence in the West Shore area on Thursday sparked widespread speculation on social media as residents sought to understand the unfolding situation.

According to the West Shore RCMP, the activity stemmed from a search warrant executed on December 12th. The warrant was related to a suspected drug trafficking investigation at a property located near William Head and Taylor Road in Metchosin.

“The public can expect to see a large police presence in the area as officers continue their investigation,” RCMP stated in a release.

While details of the investigation remain limited, police have assured the public that the area has been secured and there is no risk to public safety.

As the investigation is ongoing, no further information has been made available at this time. Police are urging residents to avoid the area to allow officers to carry out their work uninterrupted.
