Like in Hollywood movies, don’t cut the wrong wire, or things could go wrong!

On October 24th, Oak Bay Police responded to an alarm call in the 2000 block of Lansdowne Road, where they found an intruder attempting to disable the home’s security system.

According to a statement by Oak Bay Police, officers were dispatched at 10:59 p.m. and arrived to find a 49-year-old woman, identified as Leslie Lampman, inside the residence.

The investigation revealed that Lampman had allegedly broken a basement window using a rock to gain entry into the home.

Once inside, she reportedly attempted to disable the alarm system by cutting its wires, but the system continued to alert authorities.

Following her arrest, Lampman was held in custody for a bail hearing on October 25th, where Crown Counsel charged her with mischief.

She has since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 4th.
