The Royal Victoria Marathon will take place this weekend, resulting in some road closures in and around Victoria.
The marathon is a two-day event, spanning across Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th.
Throughout its duration, certain sections across Victoria will be closed off to ensure safe routes for the participants—this means no cars, cyclists or pedestrians will be allowed along designated marathon areas.
Race organizers warn that everyone in and around the area should expect delays and be prepared to take alternate routes.
Saturday is a smaller day, with only the Oak Bay 5 kilometre run and the Thrifty Foods Kids Run.
Sunday’s festivities include the Marathon/Half Marathon, so closures will be in place for the majority of the day.
