Creators of Victoria, listen up!
The Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL) has opened their submission period for the 10th anniversary of the Emerging Local Authors Collection.
The submission period kicked off in early October and will be open until January 19th. During this time, local authors and illustrators from Southern Vancouver Island are invited to submit their published works for consideration!
“This is a momentous year for us as we celebrate a decade of supporting and showcasing the incredible talent in our community,” said Cheryl Landry, Library Services Librarian.
“The Emerging Local Authors Collection has grown into a vibrant showcase of diverse voices and genres, and we’re eager to continue the tradition of connecting local authors with readers looking to discover something new and special.”

“Reaching this ten-year milestone is a true celebration of the incredible creativity that thrives in our community,” said Lucia Gambetti-Bracco, Library Services Librarian.
“Whether you’re publishing your first book or your tenth, we’re here to help you share your work with a broader audience. There’s no better time to showcase your story and leave your mark as part of this unique collection.”
Books from the 2024 Emerging Local Authors Collection are on display at the Central Branch located downtown on Broughton Street and are available for borrowing. There are ebook versions available through BiblioBoard.
