A second strong wind warning is in effect this week for many regions of coastal BC, including the Victoria area.
Environment Canada put this wind warning into effect at around 5 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30th, and the warning will be in effect until Thursday.
The wind warning will impact much of east Vancouver Island near the Haro Strait, from Nanoose Bay to Campbell River and Greater Victoria.
“A Pacific frontal system approaching Vancouver Island will produce strong southeasterly winds,” wrote Environment Canada in their advisory.
“The strong winds will develop this morning then ease this afternoon when the front weakens.”
Environment Canada warns that loose objects may be tossed by the wind and could potentially cause injury or damage.
They added that high winds often result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
Aside from the wind warning, Environment Canada reports that the forecasted high for October 30th will be 11°C with periods of rain and a low of 6°C overnight.
Once the winds have let up on Thursday, which is also Halloween, the forecast calls for a high of 11°C and mostly cloudy with an overnight low of 7°C.
