One person has been arrested following a house fire in North Saanich on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Sidney/North Saanich RCMP, the fire broke out just before 2 p.m. in the 8900 block of Lochside Drive.
Lochside Drive was closed from the airport roundabout to Amity Drive in both directions while fire crews battled the blaze.

Many people took to social media on Wednesday, reporting heavy smoke throughout the Saanich Peninsula region.
In an update on Thursday, RCMP said the cause of the fire has been deemed suspicious, and a suspect was located and arrested at the scene.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
