Welcome to another gorgeous week of summer, Victoria!

We hope you’re enjoying the sunshine, and we’re sure the new cruise ship arrivals this week will be basking in the heat as well.

It’s a busy one for the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA), with 13 cruise ships expected to dock between Wednesday, July 10th and Sunday, July 14th.

That’s 37,563 passengers total, all excitedly rushing between downtown shops and restaurants with their allotted time.

There are two cruise ships today, July 10th, to start us off: Queen Elizabeth arriving at 1 p.m. with 2,081 people; and the Carnival Luminosa ship arriving at 8 p.m. with 2,260 passengers.

The cruise ships to follow are as such:

  • Thursday, July 11th at 11 a.m.: Ovation of the Seas with 4,180 passengers
  • Thursday, July 11th at 5:30 p.m.: Celebrity Edge with 2,918 passengers
  • Friday, July 12th at 7:30 p.m.: Norwegian Bliss with 4,250 passengers
  • Friday, July 12th at 8 p.m.: Eurodam with 2,104 passengers
  • Friday, July 12th at 9 p.m.: Discovery Princess with 3,660 passengers
  • Saturday, July 13th at 7 p.m.: Majestic Princess with 3,560 passengers
  • Saturday, July 13th at 7:30 p.m.: Norwegian Encore with 3,998 passengers
  • Saturday, July 13th at 8 p.m.: Westerdam with 1,840 passengers
  • Sunday, July 14th at 8 a.m.: Silver Muse with 596 passengers
  • Sunday, July 14th at 5 p.m.: Quantum of the Seas with 4,180 passengers
  • Sunday, July 14th at 7:30 p.m.: Norwegian Sun with 1,936 passengers

The first ship arriving at our shores on Sunday, July 14th, the Silver Muse, is the smallest ship to dock this week, but is not to be underestimated.

It has been referred to as ‘quietly elegant and luxurious’ by critics for its sleek decor, surprisingly vast dining options, spacious lounge areas and cruise packages.

And because there is a dress code in place after 6 p.m., there’s an alluring element of fashion finesse, with tuxedos and cocktail dresses often adorned in place of shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops on formal evenings.

Traveling solo? Silversea (the company that operates Silver Muse) offers special single fare deals, where solo travellers are offered single supplements at only 25% on selected voyages.
