The cruisers are in for a good week!
Nearly 35,700 people across 12 cruise ships will be docking in Victoria this week, and they’ll all be greeted by plenty of sun and fun things to do.
The Carnival Spirit cruise ship kicked us off this week, arriving at 8 p.m. Monday morning, with just over 2,100 passengers!
Tuesday is a rest day for the streets of downtown, with no new ships coming in until Wednesday evening at 8 p.m.—which will be the Carnival Luminosa with 2,260 people on board.
Thursday is anticipated to be the busiest day for Ogden Point Terminal, with four cruise ships coming in beginning at 9 a.m. and ending with the 5:30 p.m. Celebrity Edge sailing.
The full list of cruise ships to follow Wednesday’s sailing are as follows:
- Thursday, June 20th at 9 a.m.: Queen Elizabeth with 2,081 passengers
- Thursday, June 20th at 10 a.m.: Regatta with 684 passengers
- Thursday, June 20th at 5 p.m.: Ovation of the Seas with 4,180 passengers
- Thursday, June 20th at 5:30 p.m.: Celebrity Edge with 2,918
- Friday, June 21st at 7:30 p.m.: Norwegian Bliss with 4,250 passengers
- Friday, June 21st at 8 p.m.: Eurodam with 2104 passengers
- Friday, June 21st at 9 p.m.: Discovery Princess with 3,660 passengers
- Saturday, June 22nd at 7 p.m.: Majestic Princess with 3,560 passengers
- Saturday, June 22nd at 7:30 p.m.: Norwegian Encore with 3,998 passengers
- Sunday, June 23rd at 5 p.m.: Quantum of the Seas with 4,180 passengers
The little Regatta with just under 700 passengers has been referred to as the ‘goldilocks of ships,’ for its happy-medium in size and passenger capacity.
Though it’s smaller than the others by a significant margin, this Oceania Cruise ship does not lack in sophistication and elegance.
It also underwent a refurbishment in 2019, boasting new surfaces in every suite and stateroom, a refreshed colour palette in communal spaces, and renewal of fabrics, furnishings and lighting fixtures.
