BC Transit has announced that they’ll be offering free rides to everyone in the Greater Victoria region this Wednesday, June 5th.
The occasion is marked by the city’s celebration of Clean Air Day, and by providing free transit, they’re hoping to promote the use of a more environmentally-friendly transportation option.
Transit in Victoria will be free all day for all transit riders, including handyDART customers.
Clean Air Day was introduced by the Government of Canada in 1999 as part of Canadian Environment Week.
The overarching goal of the day and initiative is to raise awareness about air quality, climate change, and to inspire people to change their habits as well as decrease their personal greenhouse gas emissions.
