Vancouver Island-based dance duo makes it to the finale of Canada’s Got Talent

Funkanometry say they are a “dynamic hip hop and popping” dance duo who happen to hail from Vancouver Island.

The duo is comprised of Jacksun Fryer and Carlow Rush who initially gained recognition and a significant following on social media for their performances.

Before they auditioned and got on Canada’s Got Talent, Funkanometry appeared on NBC’s World of Dance and managed to impress judges and expert dancers, Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough.

Now they’ve made it all the way to the finale of Canada’s Got Talent and are pleading with their fans and members of the public to help them win because the winner of the show will be determined by an audience vote.

If they can manage to win, they will receive $1 million in prize money.

“You might think our big social media presence means a big paycheque, but actually, very little of our content is optimally monetized due to the iconic music we choose,” Funkanometry wrote on social media.

“The grind is real! Winning CGT would be life changing on so many levels. But most importantly, it means fulfilling our biggest dream from day 1.”

They continued to say they would love to be able to apply all their focus to their dancing and this prize money would really help them achieve this goal.

“Winning this prize will ultimately allow us to spread even more positivity throughout Canada, and the world,” they added.

The duo will have to face off against some truly talented Canadians whose talents lie in singing, magic, rollerskating and comedy, with Funkanometry being the only dancers left standing.

Among the finalists, there is one other British Columbian vying for the win and the accompanying prize money—Eshan Sobti from Mission, BC.

The finale of Canada’s Got Talent airs at 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14th.
