Saanich’s beloved Strawberry Festival returns this summer with $2 ice cream

Share

We know summer is approaching when talk of strawberries begins to circulate!

The highly-anticipated annual Saanich Strawberry Festival is returning for its 57th year on Sunday, July 7th at Elk Lake Regional Park on Beaver Beach.

Attendees will be treated to a wide array of entertainment, including face painting, arts and crafts, bouncy castles and program demonstrations.

Keep cozy and bring your beach blankets, so you can soak up the beauty of the outdoors while talented performers take the main stage throughout the day.

And of course, no Strawberry Festival would be complete without the classic treat of strawberries and ice cream!

Tickets for strawberries and ice cream will be available for purchase starting at 11 a.m., and they tend to sell out quickly, so be sure to secure yours earlier in the day!

The iconic dessert will be sold from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for $2 per serving—all cups and spoons are 100% compostable, so be sure to use the green bins to reduce waste.

Every year, this popular event draws in a huge crowd, which can make parking challenging!

The event organizers recommend utilizing overflow parking in the grass area just off of Elk Lake or taking advantage of the convenient Shuttle Bus service running from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The shuttle will transport guests between Saanich Commonwealth Place and the main parking lot, ensuring a hassle-free experience.

Admission to the event is free. The event is cash only and no ATM machine will be available.
