Last month, BC SPCA Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre (Wild ARC) brought an injured beaver to Elk Lake Veterinary Hospital after it was found with multiple gunshot wounds.
The beaver was suffering from life-threatening injuries and was placed under the care of Dr. Petra Warnock, Christina and the rest of the team at Elk Lake Veterinary Hospital.
The beaver had a successful surgery and her health was stabilized. Unfortunately, one of her eyes could not be saved and had to be removed.
After spending some time at the hospital, the beaver was brought to Wild ARC for rehabilitation.
During her time there, staff said she loved playing in her pool and being in the water.
The beaver was soon deemed healthy enough to return back to the wild and was released.
