Victoria Police issue alert for high-risk missing 75-year-old man

UPDATE: Barry Doyle, who was the subject of a high-risk missing person alert earlier this evening has been located. He was spotted by an alert citizen who called Victoria Police. He has been reunited with his family.

Victoria Police are asking for help as they work to locate a high-risk missing man, Barry Doyle.

Barry is described as a 75-year-old Caucasian man who is five feet, ten inches tall, with a slim build.


UPDATE | The search for Barry has now extended outside of James Bay. There was a sighting of him near Quadra and Caledonia at 4:30 p.m. today. Again, if you see Barry Doyle, Please call 911.


He has short grey hair which is usually parted on the side, and is clean shaven – he was last seen wearing a blue sweater, red plaid shirt, blue jeans and tan shoes.

Barry is considered high-risk and suffers from a medical condition, and has reportedly walked away from his residence in James Bay. Police are concerned as he is not dressed for the weather, and he may be somewhat confused.

Patrol officers are currently searching for him now, and are asking if anyone sees Barry Doyle, to call 911.
