Victoria’s first 100% Zero Waste store opens in Chinatown

Great news, islanders!

The city’s first completely zero waste shop, West Coast Refill, has recently opened its doors on Fisgard St.

How it works? You simply bring in your own clean empty container (or pick a glass bottle from their store), and fill it up with one of their organic, Canadian-made products!

The price is determined by the volume of the product you want to buy.

As of right now, the store carries home cleaning products, body care products, and raw ingredients – all in bulk! Click here for a full list of what you can get.

The goal is to promote a plastic- and package-free lifestyle, as well as the use of biodegradable, Canadian-made products.

There are quite a few local business that support the Zero Waste movement and encourage customers to bring in their own containers – but West Coast Refill is the first of its kind to eliminate plastic packaging entirely.

Hopefully the shop will inspire others to follow their lead!
