The driver involved in a hit-and-run that left a 56-year-old woman with serious injuries has come forward.
The incident happened Saturday night on Wilkinson Road near Interurban around 10:30 p.m.
A Smart car heading southbound was rear-ended by another vehicle, causing it to slam into a parked Jeep.
The vehicle that hit the Smart car took off before officers arrived at the scene.
The injured driver was rushed to hospital with what were first described as minor injuries, but they were later found to be serious.
Police say the driver of the suspect vehicle came forward after they issued a media release about the hit-and-run.
That vehicle has been seized by investigators and while police say an investigation continues, no arrests have been made.
The victim remains in hospital in serious condition, according to police.
