A new playground in Esquimalt is capturing the imagination of kids and adults.
The Esquimalt Adventure Park opened late last week and features two separate playgrounds for children, water features, and pour-in-place rubber surfacing for safety and wheelchair accessibility.
Additional features in the park—which also integrates the existing outdoor fitness
park — will include a spray park, a washroom/change room facility, picnic areas,
landscaped gardens and a rain garden to filtrate the water back into the groundwater
system.
Although kids have already been playing on some of the features, the official grand opening has been set for June 10.
The park will be open from dawn to dusk and the splash pad will operate between 10:00 am to 8:00 pm daily.
Esquimalt Adventure Park is located on Fraser Street, beside the Esquimalt Recreation Centre.
