A magnitude 4.7 earthquake was detected off the west coast of Vancouver Island at 10:38 this morning.
According to the United States Geological Survey, it had a depth of 20 kilometres and occurred 453km WNW of Victoria.
No damage was recorded, and a tsunami warning was not declared.
