VIDEA’s Winter Fair
Shop with a Conscience at VIDEA’s Winter Fair!
On Saturday, November 28, VIDEA’s Winter Fair returns to the Fernwood Community Centre, bringing together Fair Trade and Indigenous vendors for an afternoon of ethical shopping and community connection.
Formerly known as the Fair Trade Fair, the event has been part of VIDEA’s work in Victoria for more than 20 years. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors can browse artisan clothing, handmade gifts, home décor, jewellery, personal care items and more, while meeting some of the people behind the work.
At the heart of the Winter Fair is a belief that how we build relationships, share resources and support one another matters.
The Winter Fair is one expression of that approach. VIDEA does not charge vendors to participate, helping create space for vendors to share their work on their own terms and connect directly with the wider community. Donations to VIDEA are welcome at the door, but are never required.
The Fair is also an opportunity to learn more about VIDEA’s work beyond the event. This year, that includes Indigenous Knowledge 2 Power (IK2P), which works alongside more than 450 young people, most of them young women, across nine communities in Eastern Zambia. These young people are leading community gardens, peer-support activities and conversations around mental health, gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights, climate resilience and Indigenous knowledge.
Whether you have been part of the Winter Fair for years or are visiting for the first time, we invite you to spend the afternoon with us, meet this year’s vendors, learn more about VIDEA’s work and find ways to stay connected beyond the Fair.
