UPDATE: Police confirm that the motorcyclist involved in this collision has passed away from his injuries.
Officers are working to notify his family and his identity has not yet been released.
Earlier: Saanich Police are rerouting traffic in the area of of Cumberland and Union Road due to a serious motor vehicle incident.
The collision occurred at around 12 p.m. on Monday, September 16th, and unconfirmed reports state that it involved a motorcycle and a car.
Emergency crews are on site and officers say they will be there for “quite some time” to gather evidence and investigate the incident.
