There’s a new play at the Belfry Theatre starting this Tuesday, along with some pub trivia, women’s night at the sauna, a comedy show at the mint and an interesting indie film at Cinecenta!

Women of the Fur Trade at the Belfry Theatre

Set in “eighteen hundred and something”, three very different women with a preference for 21st-century slang sit in a fort on the banks of the Reddish River, sharing their views on life, love and that hot nerd Louis Riel.
In this lively historical satire of survival and cultural inheritance, playwright Frances Koncan shifts perspectives from the male gaze onto women’s power—in the past and present—through the lens of the rapidly changing world of the Canadian fur trade.

James Roque – The Mano Po Tour at The Mint
The “Kiwi-Pinoy Comedy Boy” is back—hitting the road for his first-ever world tour with a brand new show, ‘Mano Po.’
A ‘mano po’ is a Filipino gesture of respect—given to your elders. And for Filipinos, you already know the fear: one day, it’s coming for you.
In 2025, James received his first serious ‘mano po’ request from a teenager which sent him into a spiral. Is he really old enough for this? What if he hasn’t done enough with his life? Is this what a mid-life crisis feels like? Should he get a motorcycle? Damn, life comes at you fast.
A funny and heartfelt new hour about aging, unpacking your life and the panic of realizing you’ve become an adult—whether you’re ready or not.

Women’s night at Ærth Sauna
Women’s Night sessions are created with the intention of deep rest, presence and returning to yourself—all within the warmth of community.
Two hours of shared presence: Saunas, cold plunge, sound bath and yoga/breathwork.

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma at Cinecenta
Catch a flick at the campus theatre!
A director making a slasher sequel becomes obsessed with casting the original film’s ‘final girl,’ leading both women into psychological and sexual chaos.
Tickets are $8 for UVSS students, $9 for seniors, $10 for UVic alumni, faculty and staff and a plus one or $11 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

SixtyWatt Trivia at Bartholomew’s
Head down to Bartholomew’s for their weekly pub trivia in partnership with SixtyWatt Trivia!
These events are always a riot.
SixtyWatt is a Victoria-based trivia company that is known as the “Mr. Fix it” of quiet pub nights.
They specialize in sarcasm, banter and some pretty great one liners that you may in fact want to write home about.
With four fun rounds, each team has a chance to rake in the prizes.
Trivia is free to play, but SixtyWatt does ask that you support the venue and purchase some food or beverages.
