74-year-old man seriously injured in alleged assault at Gorge Park

A 74-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries following an alleged assault at Gorge Park on Monday afternoon.

According to VicPD, officers were called to the park at 1070 Tillicum Road at around 1:15 p.m. on August 31st for a report of an assault in progress.

Police said the senior suffered serious facial injuries during an alleged assault involving a male suspect.

Following the incident, the suspect fled the area on foot through the dog park accompanied by a female youth.

The victim was transported to Victoria General Hospital for treatment. Police said the suspect remains at large, and no description has been released.

Investigators continue to gather evidence and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information and has not yet spoken with police to call the E-Comm non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654.
