Serious collision in Duncan requires injured to be airlifted to hospital: RCMP

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are investigating a serious two-car collision that resulted in a medical evacuation via helicopter. 

At around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 29th, police received a report of the collision which occurred at the intersection of Beverly Street and the Trans-Canada Highway in Duncan.  

Police say a sedan travelling northbound along the highway was struck by another sedan travelling southbound at the intersection. 

Two occupants were extracted from one vehicle by North Cowichan Fire and airlifted to hospital while the occupants of the other vehicle were transported to the local hospital in an ambulance. 

Combined, there were a total of five persons inside the two vehicles and no fatalities.

Police are looking for any witnesses, dashcam video or surveillance that may have observed the collision on Saturday morning to call North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at (250) 746-5522.
