Campbell River man arrested for break in at Centennial Pool

Campbell River RCMP have arrested a local man for an alleged break and enter at Centennial Pool on July 24th.

Following an investigation, police have charged Derek Glenn Domeij with one count of break and enter.

Domeij was arrested on Tuesday, August 25th, and has since been detained by the Court. He will remain detained until his next court appearance, which is scheduled for Monday, September 14th. 

Police say the investigation involved utilizing the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, which assisted investigators in identifying a suspect.

“While we are pleased to have advanced this investigation, our work is far from over,” said Inspector Jeff Preston, officer in charge of the Campbell River RCMP. 

“Property crime, including break and enters, continues to be a concern in our community.”

While a suspect has been arrested in this break in incident, Campbell River RCMP says they will continue to investigate the several other break-and-enter incidents that have occurred over recent months. 

Police are encouraging residents and business owners to remain vigilant, secure their properties and report any suspicious activity.
