Cyclops was seen visiting his old stomping grounds!
Hollywood actor James Marsden, known for his role as Scott Summers/Cyclops in the X-Men series, has shared some scenes from a recent trip to Vancouver Island on his Instagram page.
Marsden has a special connection to Vancouver Island, and this isn’t his first time in the area.
Fans of the series will remember that much of the footage in X-Men films comes from our very own Vancouver Island, with the iconic Hatley Castle on the Royal Roads University campus in Colwood serving as Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.
The famous actor is also known for his role in classic films such as Hairspray, Enchanted, 27 Dresses, the television series Westworld and most recently, Paradise.
Marsden seems to have taken advantage of the best of what the region has to offer and can be seen smiling with stunning scenes of Vancouver Island wilderness in the background.
The Instagram shots also include some Vancouver Island’s incredible wildlife, including orcas, sea otters and black bears.

Some of the shots seem to suggest that the actor stayed at, or at least visited, the famous Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, which features beautiful tents on the waterfront and a “safari” that takes visitors through some of Clayoquot Sound’s incredible rivers on horseback.
Some commenters on Marsden’s Instagram post are speculating that this trip may mean the actor is on the island to film, although this has not been confirmed.
While it’s easy to forget what an incredible place Vancouver Island is, it’s clear from the actor’s visit that it is a destination that many all around the world view as an incredible place with rugged beauty.
