There’s a new smash burger in town, Victoria!

If you’ve spent time downtown late at night, you may have noticed the limited options when it comes to finding a good burger, as Victoria’s late night burger-scene has very few options.

But we’ve got good news—there’s a new addition to the market!

Pretty Patty, located in the heart of downtown, at 642 Yates Street, had its grand opening over the weekend and is dedicated to serving up crispy-edged smashed patties to the downtown community after hours.

This location was formerly operated by Fresko One World Cafe, which closed its doors in 2025.

Pretty Patty will be open 7 days a week, from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m. Thursday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday to Wednesday.

Their menu features a classic smash burger, some variations on the sandwich ranging from spicy to mild, a chicken burger, a couple of vegetarian options along with some poutines and milkshakes.

The restaurant is a father-and-son business. The duo have lived in Victoria for nearly a decade after emigrating from Northern India, and have been working on renovating the building for the last 10 months.

They are ecstatic to finally open the restaurant and offer a new option to those in the downtown core.

The restaurant has been getting great reviews online and is currently sitting at 4.8 stars on Google reviews.

The next time you find yourself downtown in the wee hours of the morning after dancing the night away, why not give a local, family-run business a try?
