A new Vancouver Island Whisky Festival is coming to Merridale Cidery & Distillery

Share

A brand new Vancouver Island Whisky Festival is launching for one night only at Merridale Cidery & Distillery.

Taking place on February 28th, the festival unfolds across 20 acres of orchard land in Cobble Hill at this beloved cidery and distillery, bringing together award-winning whiskies and aged spirits from nine Vancouver Island distilleries.

This intimate, tasting-forward experience invites guests to explore how Vancouver Island’s unique terroir—shaped by coastal temperatures, mineral-rich water, and a slow-aging environment—directly influences the flavour, texture, and character of each whisky.

Participating distilleries include Merridale, Stillhead Distillery, True North Distilleries, Phillips Brewing & Malting Co., Macaloney’s Island Distillery, Sheringham Distillery, Shelter Point Distillery, Brass Monkey Brewing Co., and Arbutus Distillery.

As the only festival dedicated exclusively to celebrating Vancouver Island-made whisky, this event provides a rare opportunity to taste the Island’s best spirits in one place, while hearing directly from the makers about their techniques, inspirations, and challenges.

Guests can move at their own pace while sipping, pairing, and engaging in immersive mini-sessions hosted by the distillers themselves.

Whether you’re a longtime whisky enthusiast or simply curious about what Vancouver Island distillers are creating, the Vancouver Island Whisky Festival offers a chance to taste, learn, and connect in a way that’s both meaningful and memorable.

With limited availability, tickets are selling quickly.
