Welcome to the weekend—the last weekend of the month—and it’s shaping up to be a busy one in Victoria. 

Whether you’re looking for something cozy and community-focused, dive into live music and comedy, or explore food, film, and family-friendly fun, there’s no shortage of ways to fill your calendar.

From donation-based museum days and hands-on crafts to symphony concerts, brunch shows, and the launch of one of the city’s most anticipated food festivals, this weekend offers something for everyone.

Community Day – Swimming into the New Year

It’s a new year, new community day! 

Start the new year with curiosity, creativity, and community spirit. On this special day, admission is by donation all day, giving everyone the chance to explore our exhibit 1858: Black Routes, Black Roots and enjoy a relaxed day at the museum. 

From 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., drop in for a hands-on craft session where you can make a beaded fish. 

It’s a fun, family-friendly activity perfect for all ages, whether you’re a seasoned crafter or looking to try something new! 

This event is included with admission or a membership.

Dine Around and Stay in Town Victoria

Dine Around and Stay in Town Victoria is here! 

This 17-day food extravaganza, hosted by Destination Greater Victoria and the BC Restaurant & Foodservices Association (BCRFA) – Victoria Branch takes place January 23rd to February 8th.

Magic & Mayhem at The Mint

Start the new year right with an evening of memory-making laughs, magic, stunts, and mayhem! 

This is a fast-paced show with upbeat interaction and comedy honed over Craig McKee’s 25 years on stage.

Bring your friends, a date, or just your sense of humour, this will be a night of memories!

The Planets – Symphony in Space

Prepare to blast off as the Victoria Symphony brings you music from out of this world. 

Expect to visit a few of the planets as depicted by Gustav Holst, Mozart, and Strauss. 

Enjoy favourite themes by John Williams from Star Wars, recall the drama of Apollo 13, relive Star Trek through the years, and more! 

From concert classics to inspired film scores, your imagination will take flight.

Vikes Basketball

Cheer on the Vikes as they take on the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack! 

Both men and women teams play a match. It’s also SHOOT FOR THE CURE night, where we mark the Vikes’ efforts in fundraising for breast cancer research.

The Strange Hour

The Strange Hour is back for its second season with more strangeness than ever! 

This is Victoria’s ONLY 19+ brunch variety show featuring presenters and performers across genres, including wrestlers, chefs, drag, beer experts, burlesque, and more.

There will be drinks and baked goods for purchases, crafting areas, and, of course, brunch!

Community Sunday at Odd Burger

Join Odd Burger on Sunday, January 25th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for VegFest Victoria’s inaugural Community Sundays fundraising event with Home for Hooves.

Community Sundays is a recurring, family-friendly event designed to bring people together to enjoy delicious vegan food while supporting vegan nonprofits and charities. 

Each event features a rotating Community Partner nonprofit or charity alongside VegFest Victoria, with Odd Burger sharing proceeds with both VegFest Victoria and the Community Partner.

COOKEILIDH Robbie Burns Day Craigdarroch Castle

Don your tartan, grab your clan and come on out to Craigdarroch Castle for a celebration of Robert Burns. 

Festivities of the day are included in the admission to the Castle, including live Scottish and Celtic music by Cookeilidh.

Family Yoga – Winter Adventures

Family yoga is a chance to move, laugh, and relax together while strengthening not just bodies, but family bonds. 

Each month, join Wild Roots Dance & Roots explore a new themed journey through yoga, stories, music, and creativity.

Open to children 4-9 years and no yoga experience needed—just bring your curiosity, energy, and sense of exploration! 

Wear comfy clothes to move in, and bring a yoga mat and water bottle for each family member (extra mats available at the studio).
