RCMP say more than $40,000 worth of drugs and cash has been seized following a months-long drug trafficking investigation in the West Shore.

According to police, the investigation was led by the West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit in partnership with the Drugs and Organized Crime Unit and ran for approximately four months.

It concluded in late December 2025 with the arrest of two men and the execution of search warrants at two residential properties in Colwood and Langford.

During the searches, officers seized approximately $28,000 in Canadian currency along with multiple suspected illicit substances.

Police say the seizures included about 73 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 84 grams of suspected powder cocaine, 33 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and 29 grams of suspected fentanyl.

RCMP estimate the combined value of the drugs and cash seized to be more than $40,000.

“By removing these substances from our community, officers prevented thousands of potentially lethal doses from reaching the streets,” said Cpl. Danny Grieve of the West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit.

“This investigation highlights our continued commitment to disrupting drug trafficking and organized crime in the West Shore, helping to keep our communities safe.”

The West Shore seizure comes as another Vancouver Island police agency reported a drug bust of its own.

In a social media post, Central Saanich Police Service said officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Mount Newton Cross Road and Highway 17 that resulted in the seizure of illicit drugs, unstamped cigarettes, knives, and a replica firearm.

Police say Charges related to that investigation have been forwarded to Crown counsel. No other details have been released.
