VicPD are asking the public for help after a pedestrian was struck in a hit-and-run collision at a busy intersection on Sunday.

According to police, officers were called to the area of Hillside Avenue and Blanshard Street at around 9:25 a.m. on December 28th following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

Police say the pedestrian was travelling southbound on a scooter in the northbound lanes when a vehicle turning right from westbound Hillside Avenue onto northbound Blanshard Street struck them.

The vehicle, described as a black sedan, continued north on Blanshard Street for roughly 30 feet before leaving the scene without stopping.

The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and is continuing to recover.

Investigators are now asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage from the area between 9:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. that morning, to come forward.

Police say even small details could help identify the vehicle and driver involved.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the VicPD report desk at (250) 995-7654, and reference file number 25-50626.
