Nanaimo RCMP have announced that a five-month long drug trafficking investigation has resulted in mass amounts of illicit substances and weapons being taken off the streets.
The investigation was launched in November 2024, when officers believed a residence to be key in trafficking controlled substances.
Police conducted their investigation, and have now revealed what was seized from the home.
A search warrant was executed to search the home on April 17th, when investigators located the following illegal substances and weapons in the residence:
- 52 grams of fentanyl
- 25 grams of cocaine
- 30 grams of methamphetamine
- 213 illicit pills
- A Ruger carbine
- A Norinco Chinese shotgun
- Hard body armour
According to Nanaimo RCMP, the Ruger was identified as previously being stolen during a break-and-enter in Port Alberni.
The residents of the home in question, 44-year-old Norman Miller and 42-year-old Carlene Sneddon, now face several charges which were approved on December 8th.
Miller is facing six separate charges relating to firearm possession, five counts of drug trafficking, being in possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
Sneddon is facing five firearm possession charges.
Nanaimo RCMP say that no more information is available, as the matter is now before the courts.
