Our Place Society has an extra reason to smile today, as they have been selected as this year’s recipient For Tim Hortons’ iconic Holiday Smile Cookie campaign.
Our Place is a community organization in Victoria that supports individuals facing poverty, homelessness, addiction and other challenges by providing essential services.
They offer meals, housing, health support, addiction recovery, education, job training and various types of housing from emergency shelters to long-term supportive units.
Being this year’s recipient of the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign should garner them a significant amount of proceeds which will help them continue to provide these services in the region.
Though the amount raised in Victoria by the campaign in 2024 is not publicly available, $10.7 million was raised across Canada last year.
This year’s Holiday Smile Cookie campaign will go from Monday, November 17th to Sunday, November 23rd.
During the campaign week, one dollar from each Holiday Smile Cookie sold at any of the Tim Hortons locations in Greater Victoria will be donated to Our Place.
“For the people we serve, a friendly smile goes a long way,” said Julian Daly, Our Place CEO.
“And having the opportunity to team up with our local Tim Hortons restaurants to spread cheer and smiles, especially at this difficult time of year, is fantastic.”
The cookies are a white chocolate sugar cookie infused with red and green sprinkles and hand-decorated with a white icing smile face.
According to Our Place, staff and volunteers will be helping the process by putting their cookie decorating skills to use in order to make sure there are enough cookies to go around.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the community embrace this delicious opportunity to help us spread hope and belonging to those who are struggling on our streets this winter,” concluded Daly.
Our Place hopes that people will make the most of the opportunity to indulge, as well as buy some cookies for their friends, family and colleagues in the coming week.
