Nanaimo RCMP have issued a warning of a of partial highway closure for an undisclosed investigation Wednesday afternoon.
In a media release, RCMP said one southbound lane of Highway 19A is currently closed as police conduct an investigation between Turner Road and Mostar Road.
The closure affects both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The second southbound lane may also be closed temporarily as officers continue their work at the scene.
Police have not released details about the nature of the investigation but confirmed there is no risk to the public.
RCMP said the lane will reopen once investigators have cleared the area and urged drivers to expect delays in the meantime.
