There’s something special about October when the air turns crisp, the leaves light up in shades of gold and red.

Local farms come alive with pumpkin patches, hay rides, and the sweet smell of cider.

It’s the perfect time to pull on a cozy sweater, grab the family (or your camera), and head out for some fall fun.

Greater Victoria may be known for its mild climate and ocean views, but when autumn rolls in, it becomes a patchwork of vibrant harvest scenes.

From Langford to Saanichton and every rural road in between, farms open their gates for families searching for that perfect pumpkin.

To help you plan your fall outing, here’s a list of some of the best pumpkin patches around Greater Victoria, each with its own charm, character, and local flair.

Bilston Creek Farm

Bilston Creek Farm in Metchosin is hosting Halloween Weekends on Admission is free, with photo ops, barn games, and a daily Golden Pumpkin Hunt.

Kids can join the Halloween Experience ($10, pre-booked online) featuring a pumpkin hunt and mini witches’ broom craft using lavender from the farm.

Visitors can also enjoy caramel apples, hot cider, pizza by Hustle & Dough, and fresh sourdough from The Bread Babe, plus fall photo sessions and local products in the farm store.

Galey Farms

Galey Farms in Saanich is bursting with pumpkins of every size and shape this fall. Families can explore the u-pick pumpkin patch, take a train ride through the fields, and get lost in the famous corn maze.

The farm also offers hay rides, family-friendly attractions, and plenty of photo spots among the fall displays. For thrill-seekers, the Festival of Fear returns at night with haunted houses and spooky surprises.

Little Lochside Farm

Located on the Saanich Peninsula, Little Lochside Farm is adjacent to Elk Lake Sayward side. They will have a small pumpkin patch available for the next couple weekends along side their u-pick dahlia field and farmstand with fall veggies.

Michell’s Farm Market

Michell’s Farm is a sixth generation farm growing over 40 varieties of fruits and vegetables on the Saanich Peninsula. Their pumpkin patch is very visible from the Pat Bay Highway.

    • Sunday to Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Bickford Farms

The pumpkins are ready! The field has tons of festive and halloween photo opportunities so you can capture moments in the pumpkin patch.

  • When: Open from 8:30am until sunset from now until October 31st.

Saanichton Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch

Now in its eighth season, the Saanichton Corn Maze invites visitors to explore winding paths, play a themed game, and pick the perfect pumpkin. Guests can also enjoy delicious Indian food, meet the farm’s baby goats, and take in stunning ocean and mountain views across the San Juan Islands — the perfect backdrop for a fall sunset.

Luxton Pumpkin Patch (Langford)

A beloved local favourite hosted at the Luxton Fairgrounds, this patch captures the heart of fall in Langford. Families can wander through rows of pumpkins, enjoy simple farmyard fun, and snap photos under the crisp autumn sky. Open on weekends, it’s an easygoing outing with small-town charm and a strong community feel that keeps people coming back each year.

Lohbrunner Community Farm

Celebrate the season at Lohbrunner Pumpkin Fest ’25, held every Saturday and Sunday in October. Enjoy a vibrant fall atmosphere with pumpkins, flowers, and a charming mini market. Costumes are encouraged, so bring your festive spirit!
