After a star-studded sellout last season, the BC Lions are headed back to Langford next year.
As BC Place will play host of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Lions will take their play elsewhere to kick-off their season—including two regular season games in Kelowna.
It will be a pre-season bout that’s coming to Greater Victoria, and though the exact date is yet to be announced, the Lions and the City of Langford look to continue the success of past visits to the island.
“The success of Touchdown Pacific in 2024 and Lions in Langford last May further manifests the excellent passion of our fans on Vancouver Island. We look forward to once again playing our first live game action at Starlight Stadium,” said Duane Vienneau, president of the Lions.
2024 saw a regular-season tilt against the Ottawa Redblacks at downtown Victoria’s Royal Athletic Park, which tallied an impressive 14,000 fans in the stands.
Back in May, Starlight Stadium saw a sellout of over 6,000 fans within 12 minutes of the public sale opening, and according to a press release from the BC Lions, they’re extremely excited to return to Langford for their ‘home’ pre-season game in May.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the BC Lions back to Langford for another exciting pre-season game next May. Their return is a testament to the passion our community has for football and the incredible atmosphere Starlight Stadium brings to the sport,” added City of Langford Mayor, Scott Goodmanson.
“The City is proud of our partnership with the BC Lions and we look forward to another unforgettable experience for fans, families and athletes.”
Tickets for the Langford pre-season game at Starlight Stadium have not yet been released, but keep your eyes on the BC Lions’ social media for updates!
