Floyd’s Diner says goodbye to its Brentwood Bay location

It’s the end of a short era on the Saanich Peninsula.

Floyd’s Diner has officially closed its Brentwood Bay location, and the team is calling it a “tasty turning point.”

The news was confirmed on Instagram this week with a cheeky farewell message.

“Well folks, the bacon’s out of the bag.”

While some fans may be clutching their milkshakes in mild despair, Floyd’s says this isn’t a sad story, it’s just time to move on.

“From the first drizzle of hollandaise on a Herb Hudson Eggs Benny to the last forkful of a Mahoney, Brentwood has been a brunch-filled blast,” the post reads.

“We’re not disappearing, just moving on to what’s next.”

Floyd’s first opened in Brentwood Bay in November 2022, taking over the building formerly home to Sassy’s Family Restaurant. The transformation was hard to miss, with the building quickly turning heads thanks to its bright pink exterior and classic Floyd’s energy.

But the writing was on the wall earlier this year.

In March 2024, the building was listed for sale at $2.1 million, raising questions about how long the Brentwood location would stick around. Now those rumours are confirmed, and the space is already set for new ownership.

Even though the Brentwood chapter is closing, Floyd’s isn’t going anywhere.

The company is keeping things upbeat and reminding customers they can still get their fill of Mahoneys, Banana Split Pancakes and Burt Reynolds Sandwiches at any of its other Greater Victoria locations.

In fact, the brand has been expanding and refreshing its footprint.

Just last month, the James Bay location relocated to a bigger space nearby on Quebec Street, giving diners even more room to enjoy their breakfast favourites.

While Brentwood Bay loses one of its boldest buildings and brunch spots, Floyd’s fans still have plenty of options to enjoy their next syrup-soaked meal with locations at:

  •  Royal Oak – 4496 W Saanich Road
  • Langford – 721 Station Avenue
  • Gorge – 123 Gorge Road
  • James Bay – 425 Quebec Street
