West Shore RCMP were able to recover an excavator that was stolen from a construction site on Bear Mountain last month.

On Wednesday, July 23rd, West Shore RCMP executed a search warrant on a rural property in the Malahat region.

Officers located and seized a John Deere excavator that was reported stolen on June 20th, from a construction site on Bear Mountain in Langford.

“Heavy machinery like this is not easy to steal, thanks to solid police work it has been recovered and will be returned to the rightful owner,” said Cpl. Danny Grieve, West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit.

Police arrested a 41-year-old man for possession of stolen property, and later released him with some conditions.
