Canadian jeans-wear and apparel company DUER has announced that they will be taking over the lease of the former Lululemon location on lower Johnson Street.
DUER was founded, and remains headquartered in Vancouver. They have made a name for themselves in BC and across Canada for their innovative focus on creating performance apparel, particularly denim, known for its comfort and versatility.
Their new storefront at 584 Johnson Street will be opening officially as of Friday, June 27th.
“Victoria has been one of our strongest markets since the early days, and being just a short hop from Vancouver, there’s already a strong connection to the city — so we’re especially excited to be opening here,” said Sarah Mayer, Head of PR and Comms.
“We’ll be doing a soft launch this Friday, with a Grand Opening weekend planned for a few weeks later.”
The new DUER storefront is right around the corner from other comparably “pacific northwest” brands, such as Arc’teryx, Patagonia, and Fjällräven.
Similarly to these brands’ storefronts, DUER’s new space will feature their full line of both men’s and women’s clothing lines.
Additionally, DUER says they will continue to work with retail partners such as Robinsons Outdoors, Outlooks Victoria, Plenty, Merchant Quarters and MEC who have carried, and will continue to carry their products going forward.
“Victoria strikes a great balance between city life and the outdoors. People here care about clothing that looks good and performs, whether that’s downtown or on the trails, and that’s exactly what I had in mind when I started the brand,” said Gary Lenett, Founder of DUER.
“It’s been one of our strongest communities since day one and being just a short trip from our home in Vancouver, opening here feels especially meaningful.”
Following the storefront’s soft launch, DUER will host a grand opening weekend from Friday, July 18th to Sunday, July 20th, featuring live performances by local musicians, complimentary drinks from nearby craft beverage partners and exclusive giveaways.
Store hours will be Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
