Massive Campbell River drug bust nets nearly $100K in cash along with drugs

A drug trafficking investigation in Campbell River leads to a major drug bust and three arrests last month.

On April 23rd, Campbell River RCMP and other investigative crews executed two search warrants as a part of a drug trafficking investigation. 

The searches were conducted in the 1800 block of South Island Highway and the 200 block of Birch Street. 

During the search, the following suspected controlled substances were found and seized:

• Over 1,100 grams of crack cocaine
• 190 grams of powder cocaine
• 228 grams of methamphetamine
• 13 grams of fentanyl
• 132 hydromorphone pills

According to police, initial field tests of the substances have been done, and a Health Canada laboratory analysis will confirm the full composition of the substances. 

Additionally, over 90 cartons of illicit tobacco, over $96,000 and four vehicles were seized from the properties. 

A 38-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman and a 68-year-old woman were arrested and later released with their first court appearance to take place in July.
