A routine vehicle stop in Langford led to the arrest of a man suspected of drug trafficking last week, according to West Shore RCMP.
On March 19th, West Shore RCMP officers were patrolling on bike Bike near the 2900 block of Jacklin Road when they spotted a vehicle displaying a licence plate that had previously been reported as lost.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot and, while speaking with the 51-year-old driver, noticed drug paraphernalia within arm’s reach. The man was arrested at the scene.
A second man, who was interacting with the driver at the time, was also arrested in connection with drug trafficking.
Police searched the 34-year-old suspect and located approximately 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine on his person.
Although the investigation remains ongoing, the driver was released without charges. His vehicle was towed, impounded, and issued a notice for inspection.
The second suspect was released on an undertaking and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
